Who we are
We are a team of surgeons dedicated to improving access to training in simple vascular surgical approaches to prevent limb loss.
These courses were co-founded by Becky Sandford and Mustafa Musajee having worked together at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, UK for several years.
Our teaching faculty are drawn from Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa and UK, with expertise in general, vascular, endovascular and cardiothoracic surgery represented.
Why are vascular courses needed?
Across the world, the increase in diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable disease, in addition to increasing life expectancy, means we are all seeing and treating many more patients with limb threatening problems.
These courses have been designed in partnership between colleagues in the UK and Kenya to offer hands-on skills training even when formal vascular training programmes are in short supply.
We aim to equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to offer limb saving interventions, and build your professional network to provide support for you and your patients.
